• Anonymous UUID – a randomly generated device identifier used to distinguish users anonymously.
• Engagement Metrics – including screen time, scroll activity, time spent reading summaries, and return time from external news links. This helps detect misuse or automated behavior.
• Ratings – all ratings submitted for public figures are anonymous and not linked to your identity.

2. How We Use the Data

We use the data collected for the following purposes:

• To detect fraud, spam, and bot behavior.
• To analyze user engagement and improve app functionality.
• To display relevant and safe content.
• To show advertisements via third-party ad services.
• In the future, we may use aggregated and anonymized data (e.g., rating trends) for research or commercial purposes (such as media or polling partners).

3. Advertising & Third-Party Services

We may use third-party advertising services (such as Google AdMob or similar) to show ads. These services may collect and use your IP address and device metadata in accordance with their own privacy policies.

We do not share your UUID, engagement metrics, or individual rating data with third parties unless it is aggregated and anonymized.

4. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure (Render.com) and protected with modern security practices. No personal data is stored.

5. User Data Deletion

6. Children's Privacy

AccuRate is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has used the app, please contact us.
